The short version: We earn commissions when you buy products through our links. This costs you nothing extra. It does not influence our rankings. If a product is bad, we say so — including products that would pay us well.
1. The Required Disclosure
The Most Organized Review is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
We may also participate in other affiliate programs and networks. This page discloses those relationships and explains, in plain language, exactly how they work.
2. How Affiliate Links Work
When you click a product link on our Site, a small tracking file (a cookie) records that you arrived at the merchant from themostorganized.com. If you purchase within the merchant’s attribution window — typically 24 hours for Amazon — the merchant credits us a percentage of the sale as an advertising fee.
Key points:
- You pay nothing extra. The price is identical whether you use our link or navigate directly.
- Commission rates vary by product category, typically between 1% and 10% of the sale price.
- We are paid by the merchant, not by you.
- We are not paid by brands or manufacturers for coverage or placement.
- Amazon’s cookie also credits us for other qualifying items you may add to your cart during the same session, even items we never wrote about.
- We cannot see what you bought. Our reports show aggregate categories and commission totals, not your identity, your order, or your personal information.
3. Why We Use This Model
Independent publishing has to be funded somehow. The realistic options are:
| Model | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Paid subscription | You pay directly for access |
| Heavy display advertising | Slow, cluttered pages and invasive tracking |
| Sponsored content | The brand paying the most gets the best review |
| Affiliate commissions | Free content, minimal ads, no brand influence over rankings |
We chose affiliate commissions because it is the model where our incentive and yours align most closely. We are paid when you find something worth buying — not when a brand pays us to say so.
That alignment is imperfect, and we address that directly in Section 6.
4. Where You Will See Disclosures
We disclose our affiliate relationships in multiple places, in accordance with FTC guidance:
- A prominent disclosure at the top of every article containing affiliate links, positioned above the fold and before any link appears
- A persistent notice in the site footer on every page
- This dedicated page, linked from the main navigation
- Additional disclosure within our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer
Our standard article disclosure reads:
This article contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Our recommendations are independent — see our Transparency page.
5. Our Editorial Independence
These are commitments, not aspirations. If we violate one, we want you to hold us to it.
5.1 What We Guarantee
- Commission rates never influence rankings. If the best product in a category earns us nothing, it still ranks first.
- No brand can buy a position. We do not sell placements, rankings, ratings, or favorable language. Any offer to do so is declined.
- We publish criticism freely, including of popular products, bestsellers, and products that would earn us well.
- We recommend against purchases when that is the honest answer — including recommending a cheaper alternative, a DIY solution, or nothing at all.
- Receiving a free sample never guarantees coverage, and never guarantees favorable coverage. Where a sample was provided, we disclose it in the article.
- Rankings change when evidence changes. If a product declines in quality or a better option appears, we revise the article and note the update.
5.2 What We Do Not Do
- Accept payment for reviews or rankings
- Allow brands to preview, approve, or edit content before publication
- Copy manufacturer marketing copy and present it as our assessment
- Claim hands-on testing we did not perform
- Manufacture urgency with fake scarcity or countdown timers
- Publish fabricated testimonials or invented test results
- Hide negative findings to protect commission income
6. The Conflict of Interest, Stated Plainly
We think you should hear this from us rather than have to work it out yourself.
We earn money when you buy something. That is a structural incentive to encourage purchases. Any site that tells you otherwise is being dishonest about its own business model.
Here is how we manage it:
We optimize for repeat readers, not single transactions. A reader who buys on our recommendation and regrets it never comes back. A reader we honestly talked out of a bad purchase often returns and trusts us more. Over any meaningful timeframe, honesty is also the better business strategy — a fortunate alignment we intend to preserve.
We separate the recommendation from the revenue. Rankings are determined before commission rates are considered. We do not consult category payout tables when ordering a list.
We publish “don’t buy this” content. Our archive includes articles recommending against popular products and articles concluding that an entire product category is not worth the money. These earn us less. We publish them anyway, because they are the strongest available evidence that our recommendations mean something.
We invite scrutiny. If a recommendation on this Site looks like it was driven by commission rather than merit, write to us at store@themostorganized.com and say so. We will explain our reasoning or correct the article.
7. How We Reach a Recommendation
Our process, so you can judge its quality for yourself:
- Category mapping — identify every meaningful product in the category, not only the ones that pay well
- Specification comparison — materials, dimensions, load ratings, construction, warranty
- Long-term feedback analysis — systematic review of verified purchases, weighted toward reviews written 6 to 12 months after purchase
- Failure pattern identification — what breaks, when, and why
- Hands-on evaluation where available — clearly labeled in the article when performed
- Fit and constraint analysis — dimensional compatibility, installation requirements, and the situations where a good product is the wrong choice
- Ranking and write-up — decided on merit before commission data is reviewed
- Scheduled re-review — categories are revisited as products change or are discontinued
Where our assessment is research-based rather than hands-on, the article says so explicitly.
8. Data and Tracking
Affiliate links involve cookies. When you click through to Amazon or another merchant, that merchant may place a cookie on your device to attribute the referral.
- These cookies identify the referring site, not you personally
- We receive aggregate commission reports — categories and totals, never your identity or order details
- We never receive your name, address, payment information, or order history
- You may block or delete cookies through your browser settings; this will not affect your ability to read our content
Full detail is available in our Privacy Policy.
9. Corrections Policy
We correct errors rather than quietly deleting them.
- Factual errors are corrected promptly, with a dated correction note on the article
- Substantive changes to a recommendation are noted in an update log at the top of the article
- Price and availability updates are made routinely without individual notes, since these change constantly
- Discontinued products are marked as such and replaced with current alternatives
Report an error to store@themostorganized.com. We take these seriously and respond.
10. Advertising and Sponsorship Policy
If we ever publish genuinely sponsored content — content a brand paid us to produce — it will be clearly and unmistakably labeled as sponsored at the top of the page, and it will never appear inside a comparative ranking or “best of” list.
We currently accept no sponsored content.
Display advertising, where present, is served by third-party networks. We do not control which specific advertisements appear, and their presence is not an endorsement of the advertised product.
11. Relationship with Amazon
We are an independent publisher enrolled in a publicly available affiliate program. We are not affiliated with, employed by, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
Amazon does not review, approve, or influence our content. Amazon does not know what we write before it is published. Our participation in the Associates Program can be terminated by Amazon at any time, and gives us no special standing with the company.
Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
12. Questions and Accountability
We would rather answer a hard question than have you assume the worst.
Ask us:
- Why a specific product ranks where it does
- Whether we personally tested something
- Whether we received a sample
- Why we changed a recommendation
- Anything about how this site makes money

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Understanding how a review site is funded is the first step in deciding whether to trust it — and we would rather you trust us for good reasons than by default.
